In this video I'm doing an unboxing and test of the Mugig Condenser Microphone, Professional Broadcasting Recording Microphone Kit & Adjustable Microphone Suspension Scissor Arm Stand with Shock Mount and Mounting Clamp Kit.
This has to be one of, if not, the best cheap studio type condenser microphones available. Especially for those on a budget or even as a dialogue voice microphone for beginners looking to get into producing Youtube videos or podcasting and vlogging. Especially considering that the package contains a scissor boom stand, foam pop shield, wire mesh spit guard/pop winder filter, microphone cable and good quality metal microphone cradle with elasticated suspension. Basically, everything needed to get started with a microphone.
Although the test didn't start so well, the cable not working and the microphone not being able to be driven by the plugin power from my camera. As soon as I changed the cable and plugged the mic into a Saramonic Smartrig preamp, which provides 48 volt phantom power and very clean analogue pre-amplifier gain stage. The results were quite unbelievable for such a low cost system.
I bought the mic kit for £12.99 from Amazon, although the prices do fluctuate. The Saramonic SmartRig costs £21.95, so both can be had for a shade under £35, which is remarkable value for money and flexibility.
