In this video for IB Environmental systems and societies (IB ESS) topic 7.1 Energy choices and security, I address the range of factors that influence societies' use of energy sources. You'll learn how those energy sources vary in sustainability, cost, and their availability to a society. I also direct students to consider the socio-political factors at play in a society's choice of energy sources. I take you through a quick analysis of the relative costs of some energy sources and connect to a nice visual tool for examining the overall sustainability of energy choices of countries around the world.
