The highest mountain peaks of Slovenia are found in the north-west part of the country. At the heart of Julian Alps, in the Triglav National Park, you are greeted by Bohinj, one of the prettiest Alpine valleys. This is where the largest fresh water lake in the country is located. Bohinj is an excellent starting point for short or long alpine hiking trips to the peaks of the Julian Alps.
