[ Ссылка ] News is coming out that the Indian Navy is finally going to address its drought in submarine orders with a deal with the Germans for new submarines. It is yet to be seen what submarine or which variation is finally selected for the deal. We just know the dollar value of the deal which is around 5.2 billion and that Indian shipyard Mazgaon dock limited will be producing the boats with the Germans. This comes at a great time when the Pakistanis, India’s very very friendly neighbor (please understand the sarcasm), have bought 8 advanced A I P equipped boats. Indian navy submarine fleet will have faced a drawdown as some of the older Kilo class submarines are nearing retirement age and becoming costly to operate.
