After 36" of snow in 24 hours, people were getting after it at Squaw - hitting the chutes and hucking cliffs. Gunner Newquist hucked a 100+ foot cliff below Tram Bowl (High Camp) near Silverado lift. It definitely was not pretty, but he hucked a huge cliff and skied away. In the air, he started out face first before landing on his back and creating a classic "Squaw hot tub".
Based on his performance and landing, it makes me think that in those snow conditions, I could have taken a red saucer off the same cliff, tossed the saucer in mid-air, landed on my back in the deep pow, and walked away. What do you think?
