Make It Marathon travels across the country to meet four millennials whose jobs pay $100,000.
Richard Armendariz, 30, is a plumber for Bluefrog Plumbing + Drain in San Antonio, Texas. The father of two previously worked as a pool cleaner making $12/hour, or roughly $25,000 a year with no overtime. Now, he's expecting to make between $105,000-$125,000, including overtime.
Memesha Davis is looking forward to making $100,000 as a Local 40 ironwork journeyman in New York City. Before becoming a union worker, Davis worked in retail, customer service and hospitality, among other jobs. She was bringing in about $13,000 a year and relied on Medicaid and food stamps to survive.
Vernica Martinez, 40, is a New York City Local 3 union electrician who's been working in her trade for nearly 20 years. She's worked her way up from apprentice to journeywoman and currently makes $58 an hour. Born and raised in the Bronx, Vernica lives in Orange County, New York with her husband and two daughters.
Ricky Gass, 25, is a solar roof installer for Solar Landscaping who lives in Linden, New Jersey. Depending on the scope of the job, he either makes non-rate wages of $22/hour or the prevailing wage of $65 an hour. If all goes to plan, Ricky expects to make $100,000.
