With all the world class jazz performances at NJW, it's easy to forget that we're primarily a school! We have 6-week long courses throughout the year, many of which culminate in a final performance. Students range in age and experience from teens in high school to retirees in their 70's, and often include seasoned professional Nashville musicians.

Here is one of our advanced ensemble classes, the Charles Mingus Ensemble, taught and directed by saxophonist Denis Solee, performing the Mingus composition "Fables of Faubus" on Feb. 16, 2012.
