Start by reading the Title of the Book and introducing the author and illustrator. For younger children, explain what the author and illustrator do. Read each page of the book (take your time). Ask questions and pause for the children to answer. Engage with your students. Point at the pictures and explain things they may not know. Describe characters and surroundings in the illustrations. Introduce new vocabulary and explain the meaning. Keep in mind that your audience is young children and be enthusiastic, animated and engaging. Make sure you are being developmentally appropriate.
