The state government is calling on multicultural leaders in the Berala area to encourage testing amid the ballooning cluster there and reports some in the community thought they had to pay for a COVID-19 test.
A total of eight new cases were reported in the 24 hours to 8pm Monday: four local infections and four in hotel quarantine.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard also called on residents of Sydney's western suburbs to avoid travelling to the Sydney Cricket Ground to watch the test match from Thursday,
