Experiments have shown that winding a shuttle using a figure of eight pattern rather than a circular motion, will fit more thread onto the shuttle. Shuttles have been found in archeological deposits such as on the Thames foreshore to name but a few and examples have been discovered in London [ Ссылка ] York and Worcestershire amongst others.
