I've received the sad news that our dear friend Leo Aquino passed away in February 4th, 2022 at the age of 91. Leo was a beautiful soul & he channeled that beauty & his gentle character into his music. He began studying the accordion at an early age after he sold some flowers to the outstanding accordion pedagogue Alf Carlson. This is his own marvelous arrangement of the amazing Italian blind violinist Augusto Migliavacca's most famous composition. Leo has no regrets about the life he lived & worked for. He was so generous with his music...when I asked him if he would allow me to post his music on youtube, he said "sure, that's fine" without the least hesitation. He lived & breathed music & that was reflected in his incredible technique & perceptive interpretation. He'll never be forgotten because of the legacy he gave to us. "Rest in peace, gentle Leo!"
