This was a ''semi-blind'' playthrough, I already finish this game back in the mid 2000's, but since it's about nearly 20 years ago, I didn't remember most of the game.
This is a SOLID western game, it is probably one of the best ever made.
Good gameplay by 2005 standards, maybe not the best, but I never had to fight against the control, contrary to Red Dead Redemption 2 that every move you do take a lot of time.
There is a ''aim assist'' that you can't turn off in this game, it suck since I aim with a mouse, but it is still way less of a ''chore'' to play than RDR2.
Top tier soundtrack, one of the most epic western soundtrack of any western games.
It sound almost like John Williams has made this OST.
A lot of violences and gore like any good western game should have.
You can behead ennemy or neutral npc with some weapons.
You can explode ennemy or neutral npc with canonballs.
You can scalp dying enemy or neutral npc for absolutely no reasons and no rewards at all. lol.
The map is pretty great for a game this old, it is not really big but it has a huge charm to it, I would not be able to describe why really.
This game was made by Neversoft, the same guys that made Tony Hawk Pro skater, I was surprise that they could do a game this big and this great, they are very talented peoples without any doubt, but making a Tony Hawk game is not as hard as making this kind of game, it's feels like it was a open world game made by Rockstar.
The voice acting is one of the best thing about this game, it is so damn good for a 2005 game made for the PS2, the voice acting is even better than GTA III for exemple.
The voice acting of the protagonist is really good, but the antagonist is Metal Gear Solid voice acting good, it is one of the best VA of this era of gaming.
