Sirajganj Express Train Schedule & Ticket Price

The Sirajganj Express train no.(775/776) is an intercity train that runs between Dhaka to Ishwardi and Ishwardi to Dhaka route. It is one of the luxurious trains in Bangladesh.

History
========

The movement started under the banner of "Sirajganjbasi Swarthraksha Sangram Committee" since 2000 under the slogan "Either Rail or Jail". Following this movement, on April 9, 2009, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced Sirajganj under the rail network at a public meeting of Sirajganj Government University College . The Sirajganj Express was launched on June 26, 2013 to implement the Prime Minister's announcement. At that time the old locomotive and coach train left Ishwardi Junction at 8 am and reached Sirajganj Bazar at 10 pm and reached Dhaka's Kamalapur.The journey begins. Failing to attract passengers, the train changed its time and route again on 13 December 2015 and started its journey from Sirajganj Bazar directly to Dhaka at 6 am, leaving Kamalapur in Dhaka at 5 pm and coming to Sirajganj Bazar at night. With the change of schedule and the addition of new coaches keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the Sirajganj Express gained immense popularity and started operating as a profitable train. 


Sirajganj Express

The Sirajganj Express operates the first service on 27 Jun 2013. The current director of this train is western. It starts the journey from Sirajganj and ends in Dhaka. It works six days a week. Saturday is the weekly holiday of Sirajganj Express. This train has many facilities that are seat management, sleeping management, food benefits, entertainment benefits, etc. This train has 11 bogie that’s seat number is 966. Of these, the air-conditioned cabin first class 78, Snigdha 105, and shuvon chair 783.

The Sirajganj Express starts the journey from Sirajganj at 17:00 and arrives in Dhaka at 21:30. And the return trip, the train leaves from Kamalapur station at 06:00 and reaches in Sirajganj junction at 10:20. Saturday is the weekly holiday of Sirajganj Express.

Accident
========

02/10/2020: Covered van and pickup collided in Hatia area of Kalihati upazila of Tangail . The covered van collided with the moving power car of Sirajganj Express. The second time it collided with the train's oil tank, the oil tank was damaged and the oil leaked out. The driver of the covered van was killed and at least four others were injured in the accident.
