The tube sliders have been part of our lives for a few months now, and in this video, we’re going to show you exactly how we make them and how we use them.
A slider is more or less a simple way of blocking the light on the tube at various positions to create different patterns. You can use any lengths of slider or any distance between them. It’s really up to your tastes.
To make the sliders, start by taking a clear t8 tube and cover it entirely with black tape. Then, cut it in smaller pieces. Gaff tape works better than Duck tape. The ones we sell on [ Ссылка ] are black vinyl with a nicer finish.
Slice them in order to create an opening that is going to allow you to fit them on your actual tubes.
But here's a very interesting twist to this story. If you're letting just a little bit of light going through the sliced part, then you can get super colorful addition in your shape. The idea here is to use the brighter part to light up your subject, while retaining a lot of colors through the tiny openings of the sliders.

--- About the Tube Stories
We are Kim Henry and Eric Paré. We are a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight. Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more.
