When InfluxData Co-Founder & CTO Paul Dix and his fellow co-Founder started InfluxData, the idea did not originally take off. However, they noticed a marked interest in the infrastructure behind that application. After taking that architecture and open sourcing it, rebuilding it as InfluxDB.
“Server monitoring and app performance monitoring is one big use case. People use it for real time analytics. We’ve seen people in finance build real time risk dashboards. The other one is sensor data for IoT,” said Dix.
