This was a very special event. I headed down this weekend on the Sunday between two bits of work. To Kemble Airfield. Always a nice airfield to visit. This visit though was something different. This was the first time an event like this was staged at Kemble. The Great Vintage Fly in. The theme of This event was Pre 1955. This meant that any aircraft that as manufactured before 1955 was able to land and have free parking fees. This meant over the Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th June 2019 lots of very interesting aircraft arriving and departing. There was a little of everything. There was auster's of all types and a lovely dragonfly, very pleased a captured one of those. There was also a rare and interesting ex Sir Lankan air force Nanchang CL-6 which is a very spirited departure. Oh and a lovely old Tigermoth and two rare Horentmoths. Also, a rare Aoulotte There was also lots of old Piper PA-15's and much more. Then there were three private jets (a rarity at Kemble) A Gulfstream G550, Learjet 45 and Cessna Citation 510 Mustang. lots of good rare and interesting stuff. Harking back to the early days of aviation. A lovely day out. Hopefully, this will be an annual event as I will be heading down again if I have time.
Anyway, enjoy the action at Kemble. It was very, very windy so sorry about the wind noise, really should invest in a wind cut mic, Also about some of the shots being slightly out of focus. So Thnks for watching, like, comment and subscribe for more including action from Yeovilton, RIAT, and Bournemouth air festival.
