I'm sure you'be all seen videos of huge gangs of monkeys fighting on the street in Thailand. That place is the ancient town of Lopburi, Thailand. It is known as monkey town as the monkeys are worshipped here and fed daily (as well as an annual monkey banquet). That all went a bit awry during the lockdown period; they weren't getting fed much so they got hangry (hungry plus angry). Gang fights broke out, all centred around the crossroads and Pra Prang Sam Yot, an ancient Khmer temple from the 13th century.
Anyway, I had work to do so I was looking for a cool place; Karl (of the Youtube channel Love Thailand) suggested inside the old temple because: it is cool and dry, the monkeys don't enter as the monkey man will get them with a catapult; and hardly anybody goes there as there are still very few tourists. I locked myself in and worked for a couple of hours, watched by literally hundreds of cheeky monkeys (9-10,000 call this part of the town centre home), swinging at the gates.
The trick in this town is to: carry no food and drink or it WILL get robbed; don't stand still for too long or the younger ones will climb on your head; and show no fear at all.
I often 'work'/write in some extremely unorthodox places. If you want to see more, please comment below and I will film some.
