There are a lot of reasons to get a dog from a shelter, but there are some challenges that some activists and ideologues like to pretend don’t exists. I really get frustrated when people do this because it actually makes it less likely for an adoption or rescue to stick.

If you are considering adopting a dog then you need to keep in mind the fact that there are behavioral issues you will most likely need to work through when you get your new dog home. If you are aware of these three challenges, then you will be prepared to make the right decision.
