Kannada actors Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda have been arrested for the alleged murder of a man called Renuka Swamy, who used to work in an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Karnataka's Chitradurga. Renuka Swamy was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8. According to police officials, Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Pavithra Gowda, a close friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Darshan allegedly directed his aides to bring Renuka to Bengaluru. Renuka Swamy was allegedky lynched and his body was allegedly thrown in a canal in front of Darshan. Eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault. A wooden log was reportedly used to beat Renuka Swamy to death. Darshan Thoogudeepa is married for more than a two decades and has a son. But in January this year, Pavithra hinted at their relationship. Pavithra had once claimed that even Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi is aware of their relationship.
