About the Lecturer: Yuka Asada
Yuka Asada, PhD, RD is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Health Research and Policy (IHRP) at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a qualitative researcher studying the implementation of policy and environmental changes in school and community-based settings, most recently with the National School Wellness Policy Study. Yuka is a Registered Dietitian and formerly worked in clinical nutrition; she is a founding member of an international movement called Critical Diabetics. She enjoys cooking, rock climbing, and is learning to surf in San Diego, California where she currently lives.
