STORYLINE:
While tension in the Korean peninsula has increased since North Korea's third nuclear test earlier this month, the border between the two Koreas, known as the Joint Security Area (JSA), remained quiet on Wednesday morning.
It was the first time that the United States Forces Korea and the United Nations Command based in South Korea hosted a Panmunjom area media tour for tourists and soldiers after the communist country's last nuclear test on February 12 (2013).
Only one North Korean soldier could be seen through low cloud standing on the North Korean side.
Defying UN warnings, North Korea conducted its third nuclear test in the remote, snowy northeast, taking a crucial step toward its goal of building a bomb small enough to be fitted on a missile capable of striking the United States.
