High Ground is a Western-style revenge drama partly inspired by real events. Nearly 20 years in the making, Stephen Maxwell Johnson has created a visually spectacular film that uncovers some ugly truths. Shot on location in Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land the narrative viewpoint is balanced between traditional owners and the colonisers.
