The revered bobolian, or high priests and priestesses, decked in full traditional costume and regalia for the grand prayer, including swords, amulets and charms, were recorded doing the magavau — a thanksgiving ritual for the Kaamatan or rice harvest festival.
The ritual, involving three bobolian and eight assistants, was led by Adam Gontusan at the hall of Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) in Hongkod Koisaan, Penampang, and lasted for 15 minutes.
It was coordinated by Pertubuhan Bobolian Sabah and the KDCA Harvest Festival technical committee.
