Shipping companies often have limited data to manage vessel performance, with many companies relying only on noon day report data. The noon report data is not frequent enough to fulfil the requirements of vessel performance analytics, and it can sometimes contain errors. Vessel AIS data is an accurate and reliable source for vessel positional information. The data is recorded wherever the ship is globally, with satellite-based AIS receivers collecting data when the ship is at sea. Satellite AIS data can provide real-time information and improve vessel performance.
