Vitamin A is Retinol. Retinol can be obtained from Liver, Oily Fish, Pork and Egg Yolks. Carrots do not contain retinol; carrots contain beta-carotene, which is a precursor for retinol, so your body can convert beta-carotene to retinol, but the process is inefficient and you require a lot of beta-carotene. The misconception that "carrots contain VitA" has come about because the US govt allows food companies to refer to beta-carotene as "vitamin A", even though it is not. It's all about food marketing.
