CHINGFORD, LONDON - 19 people were injured including 3 children after a bus crashed into a shop on Winchester Rd in east London at around 08:00 on Tuesday, 26 January.

London Ambulance Service confirmed that three children and two adults had been taken to hospital, with 19 being assessed at the scene.

The double-decker bus collided with an appliance shop with flats above.

The driver of the bus was trapped and crews used specialist equipment to release him, the London Fire Brigade said.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, paramedics in fast response cars, incident response officers and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance."
