I walk through how to build a custom AMI from an EC2 instance in AWS. I also show how to confirm the additional package(s) of your custom image exist when you launch new EC2 instances from your custom AMI. Note: AMIs are region specific, so as long as your launch an EC2 in an AZ that is within a region, it's straightforward. You can also share your AMI across regions (like from us-east to us-west), but this is a more involved process.
