This is a slow death walleye rig. While we often just fish a plain hook, there are times were adding a blade to the slow death can be deadly.

In this demonstration, we use VMC Spindrift hooks and a Mack's Smile Blade at the top. We ALWAYS use Berkley Trilene XT for all our walleye rigs.

A slow death rig is essentially 2 knots. I use a TRILENE KNOT to tie to the hook, then an OVERHAND KNOT to make a loop at the top (to attach to a bottom bouncer or whatever).

MOST of my rigs are 3 feet in length. I feel LONG leaders just drag in the mud...
