My Review of Old Overholt cask strength 10-year rye.
From the Jim Beam Distillery
This comes in at 121 proof aged for 10 years, and around $100 MSRP.
Barreled in the Autumn and Winter of 2012 and Bottled in the Autumn of 2023
Nose I'm getting Carmel, vanilla strawberry, not much rye spice.
Palate I'm getting Rye upfront, then transforms to berries and a vanilla sweetness on the back.
Very long spicy oak/ rye finish, and a great heavy mouthfeel
My Verdict: I would open to getting newer batches in the future and glad I added this one to my collection.
