The latest addition to my collection, my father and I found this beauty in a garage in Kentucky. It's taken a year to get it operational, but it was worth the wait. This Victrola began its life in a small town in Alabama where a wealthy family held the monopoly on the local businesses. It then spent fifty years in a barn before a niece rescued it and had the case refinished. However, it never made it into their house and sat for the next twenty years in the garage. This is the first time it has been out of the original family, and the first time it has been played most likely since the 1940's (judging from the records that came with it). The interior is completely original and the back panels had not been removed for many years as there were quite a few mud daubers' nests attached to the back of the horn. Many thanks to everyone who helped with the restoration. I could not have done it otherwise.
