In this video I show a shift rod in one customers outdrive unit that sits about 3/16” too low to engage properly with the gimbal shift rod. I’m not sure at this time how to fix. There may be two different length rods and I’d have to find the correct part number in that case. I’ll post more here when I figure out a solution.
EDIT: So I found the solution. At the start of the video I was measuring how far down the upper shift shaft was from the gimbal housing. Well I did not push up hard enough on the shaft because it did move up when pushed. The lower shift shaft different lengths caused me to chase after the wrong problem.
