The 2025 Kia Carnival ushers in a new era for the long-running people-mover series. Yep, for the first time, a hybrid powertrain option is available. It's specifically a 'self-charging' petrol-electric series-parallel unit that combines a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with a front-mounted electric motor, all the aim of improved fuel efficiency.
But there's more to the new Carnival Hybrid than just what's under the bonnet, as it's also a member of the facelifted line-up for the fourth-generation model. As a result, significant changes have been made to its design inside and out, with key upgrades including the South Korean brand's latest multimedia system and advanced safety features.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Senior Journalist Laura Berry and her family of four spend four months living with the Carnival Hybrid's GT-Line flagship to find out how well it handles everyday life, from the weekday school run to weekend shopping trips and everything in between.
