Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are becoming standard solutions in workshops of all sizes. They are often integrated as part of Fastems Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) to ensure timely and safe transfers of production resources such as raw materials, cutting tools or machine pallets.
In this video we present one typical integration: FMS with an auto-loading robot (Fastems ALD), and AGVs delivering raw materials to the robot cell. The whole raw material input and pallet loading process is fully automated, enabling extremely high unmanned production capacity also for:
- intralogistics is handled outside the system (material pallets not inside the FMS storage)
- high demand for re-clamping or loading next jobs to the system (automated loading for fewer pallets versus a huge pallet storage with high workholding investment)
