Residents of Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape are cautiously optimistic after Transport minister, Fikile Mbalula, announced that the road they've been complaining about has been handed over to SANRAL for repairs. Just recently, the residents took to the R411 route, blockading it with burning tyres in protest against its poor state. The 75-km stretch of road is uneven, narrow and riddled with potholes.
