In my opinion is the right and traditional way of flattening soft japanese water stones from 1000 up to 6000 grit like KING DeLuxe (not the NEO and HYPER line), Suehiro (not the CERAX or their ceramic stones lines) and Naniwa Economy or Traditional (not the CHOSERA or SUPER STONE line).
