Say Hej (that’s Hi in Swedish) to Michael. Michael started at IKEA as a seasonal co-worker during the summer but then joined us part time as he worked throughout school. While at IKEA, Michael has worked in safety & security where he helped with the Edmonton warehouse expansion, won co-worker of the year, and was able to grow both professionally and personally.
In June of 2019 Michael had the opportunity to go to Sweden with a great group of co-workers to learn more about simplicity, an IKEA key value which talks about how being simple, straightforward and down-to-earth is part of our Småland heritage. We want to be ourselves and stay close to reality. Seeing where we came from and how we strived to stay true to ourselves really spoke to Michael and along with the relationships he’s built over the years, its what keeps him at IKEA.
