The Lorong Halus Wetland in the north-east of Singapore was once Singapore's largest garbage dump.The landfill is now covered over with secondary forest which attracts many birds. To detoxify the leachate arising from the buried waste, and to prevent the leachate from reaching the Serangoon River which is one of Singapore water reservoir, the Lorong Halus Wetland was created. In creating this 'wetlands', a different set of birds began to occupy this new environment. This video gives you a glimpse of the kind of birds you can find at Lorong Halus Wetland.
