A section of sugarcane farmers have called out the council of governors for asking the senate and the national assembly to reject the subsidiary Sugar Crop Regulations 2020.
At a meeting in Bungoma County, the representatives of various farmers associations threw their weight behind CS Peter Munya's plans to reform the sector. Last week CoG committee on Agriculture and the Senate committee of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries vowed to reject reforms in the sector. The leaders claimed the CS had not consulted them before unveiling a wide range of laws expected to revamp the agriculture sector.
