Gallagher solar fencer and tester used in this video.
Solar power on our farm makes our job easy when managing and moving fences, as we change our farming layout yearly.
I am sure glad I did not spend all that money on permanent fencing for my horses in the very beginning. We had quotes of $20-30,000 just to keep our horse in.
We went down to Peavy Mart and for under $1000.00, we picked up a solar fencer, 2000 feet of electric fence wire, hundred or more plastic and metal stakes to hold up the wire, a fence tester and a warning light.
Today we are demonstrating how the warning light let us know to clean off the solar panel.
Electric fences work well, but I still think its law that we put up a barrier fence adjacent to main highways. I use the electric along side my other fences as extra protection. We find the horses almost smell the electricity an stay far away.
