After nearly 30 years at Nuevo Gasómetro, San Lorenzo de Almagro are finally moving closer to their long-term dream: return to Boedo. Here, exactly on the land where the legendary Gasómetro used to stand between 1916 and 1981, a brand new home will be built.
After securing land ownership in 2019, the Argentinian football club hired Spanish office IDOM to deliver the design: both iconic and challenging. New rectangular football stadium for over 46,000 people will not have a solid facade, instead inviting fans to landscaped terraces and green areas. In line with best global standards of comfort and sustainability, San Lorenzo’s stadium might once more become not just Primera División’s, but also Argentina’s best.
