The Toyota Zenix is the third iteration of the venerable Innova MPV. This car is built with a unibody design, departing from the previous IMV platform of the second-generation Innova, and is based on the front-wheel-drive TNGA-C platform. There are two engine options available for this vehicle the 2.0-liter gasoline engine and the 2.0-liter petrol hybrid engine. Manual transmissions and diesel options are no longer available for the Zenix.
In terms of design, the Zenix was intended to be a "Innovative Multipurpose Crossover". Similar to its forerunner, this design skillfully combines the functionality and roomy interior of a minivan or MPV with the looks of a crossover SUV.
Toyota released the Zenix in two versions: the 2.0 V CVT, which retailed for P1,670,000 at launch, and the 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT, which cost P1,953,000. Elegant colors like Platinum White Pearl Mica, Blackish Brown Mica, and Dark Steel Mica are available for the HEV version, while beautiful colors like Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Platinum White Pearl Mica, and Gray Metallic are available for the gas variation.
The non-hybrid engine produces a powerful 172 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 205 Nm of torque between 4,500 and 4,900 rpm.
The hybrid engine produces 150 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque by itself; the electric motor adds 112 horsepower. By combining their advantages, the hybrid system produces a powerful and fuel-efficient combination of 183 horsepower and 393 Nm of torque.
Everything is based on the all-new TNGA-C Platform, a unibody chassis that offers more responsive handling and a more flexible ride than the body-on-frame chassis of the previous generation. Toyota is now able to produce hybrid variants of the TNGA-C platform vehicles thanks to this new platform. The Zenix's suspension system is semi-independent, with MacPherson struts up front and a torsion-beam rear suspension. All of this indicates that the Zenix offers a far more pleasant and steady ride. In contrast to the previous generation Innova, which had a longitudinally positioned engine and had rear-wheel drive, the Zenix is now front-wheel drive and has a transverse engine arrangement, similar to crossovers.
The hybrid model has 18-inch wheels, which further accentuate their powerful and boxy appearance, while the V CVT has 17-inch alloy wheels.
LED DRLs, overfenders, and chrome body details are unique to the Q hybrid variant. Electric side mirrors that fold are standard on both variants, along with LED lighting and fog lamps.
The 10.1-inch display on the Zenix is paired with six speakers and wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include three USB-C ports, one USB A port, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button ignition, automatic climate control for the front and rear compartments, and a Data Communication Module for the myToyota Connect system.
Many standard safety features are available on the Zenix; they include electronic power steering, traction control, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, a rear camera, an immobilizer, and hill-start assist.
However, the Q Hybrid's included Toyota Safety Sense package elevates safety to a whole new level. Dynamic radar cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning, a rear seatbelt reminder, six airbags, and an upgraded 360 camera system—which replaces the V CVT's backward camera—are all included in this extensive package.
