The Sustainable Development Goal Report 2022 [ Ссылка ] provides a global overview of progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNSD organized a Global Network Webinar on the insight of the SDG Report 2022 and its other associated reports.
During this webinar, three speakers, Ms. Yongyi Min, Ms. Haoyi Chen and Ms. Heather Page from the Statistics Division of UNDESA, presented the key findings of the SDG Report 2022 and shared challenges on data collection and data availability for the monitoring of the SDG. It was highlighted that the SDGs are in grave jeopardy due to multiple, cascading and intersecting crises, including COVID-19, climate change and conflict. Ms. Haoyi Chen stressed the importance of timely, accurate, and disaggregated data and statistics to help to advance the SDGs and listed the main challenges and issues on data availability. In addition, other associated reports were presented during the webinar, including The SDG Progress Chart [ Ссылка ] , Bring Data to Life: SDG human impact stories from across the globe [ Ссылка ] , The SDG Extended Report [ Ссылка ] , and the newly launched The Gender Snapshot 2022 [ Ссылка ] .
Following the presentation, the webinar discussed the custodianship of SDG data collection. It was noted that countries need to communicate with focal points from custodian agencies for the SDG indicators with any data discrepancies. In addition, the webinar discussed the effort to disseminate the Report and other ongoing promotions on different social media platforms.
The Global Network of Data Officers and Statisticians aims to improve coordination and collaboration among peers and organizations, to connect existing but not necessarily well-connected networks and initiatives, and to provide and share information on capacity building efforts globally.
