How to accelerate the pace of the Agenda 2030 implementation at half-way to its finishing line
22nd Sustainability International Conference
organized by the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) and global partners
22-25 July 2024
United Nations, Palais des Nations
Geneva, Switzerland
The conference aims to address the key question (practical and theoretical) of how to accelerate the pace of the United Nations' Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation at half-way to its finishing line and the vital role of educational institutions in driving forward the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and its 17 SDGs.
Following WASD successful conference co-organized with the Joint Inspection Unit of the United Nations system (JIU) in the Palais des Nations – Geneva in 2018 as an expression of participatory, open and multi-stakeholder approach that underlies Agenda 2030, we invite all stakeholders including universities to join us in this global conference to explore innovative strategies, collaborative initiatives, and transformative approaches that empower educational leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to accelerate progress towards a sustainable future.
The conference will focus, but not limited on these key areas:
Status of implementation of national commitments (countries case studies).
Increasing the role of universities in accelerating the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and its 17 SDGs.
Improving public health and well-being.
Using Artificial Intelligence to accelerate development of poor countries not to accentuate polarization.
Achieving SDG: a perspective from donor countries.
Encouraging innovation and better use of intellectual resources in the Global South.
Impact of Covid-19, wars and conflicts across the world.
