北-러 잇는 화물여객선 첫 취항…"양국 경제•관광협력 기여"
A new ferry service between North Korea and Russia has started operations, with a North Korean passenger ship docking in Vladivostok for the first time on Thursday.
The vessel will sail once a week to the far eastern Russian port city and will carry passengers and cargo.
Watchers believe this is the latest effort by Pyongyang to forge closer ties and boost economic cooperation with Moscow.
The new ferry link is the only regular service of its kind connecting North Korea to the rest of the world, and the ferry operator expects to attract many tourists, particularly from China.
