Marriage is designed by God.
as depicted in Genesis 2:22–25. Marriage is designed to have tensile strength—the capacity to weather whatever storm comes against it.
There's no marriage made in heaven; there's a lot of input and work put into marriage to make it bloom. At least 70% of your marriage is primarily the choice of your spouse. This has a major impact on your future and destiny. Marriage is not a decision you make out of emotion at all.
It's important to note that love is very inadequate for building a successful home, but it is still very vital (Proverbs 24:3-4.) If you know better, your home will be better. Wisdom determines the strength of any home.
Another very important factor in marriage is the state of the heart. Every healthy home is built on tender hearts. The reason many homes have problems is because of the hardness of hearts of the couple involved (Matthew 19:1-8.)
In a healthy home, what you see should be two people whose hearts are tender before the Lord. Tenderheartedness helps you express love, irrespective of your feelings and emotions.
There are two main causes of hardness of heart:
⏩ Pride
⏩ Offense
If you're married, you have to know that you're not married to a perfect person. In essence, there will be actions that will hurt you. Hardness of heart always has logic or reason behind it. Tenderheartedness follows the wisdom of the Scriptures. It is the state of your heart that determines the state of your marriage.
When you enter into the institution of marriage, everything you do is not recorded primarily as against your spouse; it's recorded primarily as against the Lord. You don't throw away your body because there's paint on it; what you do is restore the body to its original intent.
For many people, once there's a problem in their marriage, they throw it away. You have the responsibility of God to restore that home to its original intent.
Marriage is of God and should be held in high esteem!
