UK citizens can live and work in the United States on an E visa.

The E visa is for entrepreneurs. It is based on a treaty (a special agreement) between the United States and the United Kingdom, and allows UK citizens to work in the US for 5 years.

There are two ways to qualify:

(1) E-1 Trade Visa: Substantial trade between the US and UK.

(2) E-2 Investor Visa: Substantial investment in a US company, owned at least 50% by the investor. The investor grows the company to support a few US workers.

Why the E Visa is a great option for UK nationals:

+Spouses can work for any employer in the US.
+Unmarried children under 21 years old can study and live in the US.
+Very high approval rate.
+Can be renewed indefinitely in 5-year increments.

Several other countries also have treaties with the US that allow for E-1 or E-2 visas for traders and investors.
