CANS also known as CLASS ABSENCE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM developed by DR BAHSHARUDIN MOHD SHARIF for SK PAYA RUMPUT MELAKA, MALAYSIA
In order to tackle this issue and understand the underlying factors contributing to student absenteeism at SK Paya Rumput, the school has proactively partnered with parents to implement the Class Absence Notification System (CANS), empowering parents for a brighter future with the tagline "Empowered Parents, Empowered Futures!"
CANS functions by parents self-reporting their child's absences through a Google Form link. The received data is then stored directly in Google Cloud, processed, and displayed in Looker Studio, where regular monitoring takes place.
Class teachers and parents receive notifications on their registered email devices.
Administrators can analyze and intervene to address absenteeism issues through the received data.
CANS plays a role in improving observation, monitoring, and managing student absences, as well as identifying students who are truant on a given day.
CANS also enhances parental involvement and instills a sense of responsibility in reporting their child's absences to the school.
Furthermore, student attendance data can be collected, allowing the school to plan and implement appropriate interventions based on the reasons for absenteeism.
