How To Fix Bosch Dishwasher E09 Error Code - Meaning, Causes, & Solutions (Quick-Troubleshoot!). In this video tutorial I will show how to fix Bosch Dishwasher E09 error code.
The Bosch dishwasher E09 error code indicates that the heating element of your dishwasher is defective.
The following are some of the common causes of the Bosch dishwasher E09 error code:
Dirty salt sensor
A dirty salt sensor can lead to the E09 error code in Bosch dishwashers. When the salt sensor of your dishwasher is dirty, it may mislead your dishwasher into assuming that it has sufficient salt when, in reality, it has not been topped up adequately. Thereby leading to the E09 error code.
Clogged drain filter
A clogged drain filter can also cause the E09 error code in Bosch dishwashers. When your dishwasher drain filter is clogged, the water circulation speed is affected, leading the heater of your dishwasher to overheat, thereby triggering the E09 error code.
Hard water
Using hard water in your dishwasher can also trigger E09 error code in Bosch dishwashers. Hard water has a high concentration of calcium carbonate (lime), and it creates a limescale deposit on the heating element surface, causing resistance for the heater, thereby leading the heater to overheat.
Now, let us look at the best solutions you can apply to fix the Bosch dishwasher E09 error code.
Inspect the salt sensor.
If your Salt LED is simultaneously on, inspect the salt sensor of your dishwasher for any dirt or debris. If it is dirty, clean the salt dispenser with a vinegar solution or a descaling product.
Clean the drain filter.
Doing this allows you to remove any clogs in the drain filter. To clean the drain filter, use the following steps:
⦁ Unplug your Bosch dishwasher from the power outlet.
⦁ Open your dishwasher door.
⦁ Find the drain filter at the bottom and remove it.
⦁ Clean it using water and a soft cloth.
⦁ Return the drain filter.
⦁ Close the dishwasher door and plug your dishwasher back on.
Use soft water.
Using soft water eliminates the creation of limescale build-up in your dishwasher. Before using your dishwasher, determine the water hardness with a water hardness test strip. To use the water hardness strip, follow these steps:
⦁ Fill a container with water from your tap.
⦁ Dip the water hardness strip in the water.
⦁ Compare the resultant color of the strip to the color chart provided.
⦁ Each color displayed on the chart matches the hardness of your water.
If these solutions fail, consult with a professional technician for further assistance.
