403bs are constantly in the news for charging high fees or hiding their fees from their clients. These fees can add rob people of tens of thousands of dollars.

Equitable, formally known as AXA just got hit with a $50 Million dollar penalty from the SEC for hiding fees on their client's statements for the last 6 years. 403b's make up 60% of equitable total revenue so you can see how profitable these variable annuity products are and why their "advisors" are constantly in school buildings before and after school knocking on doors.
