Wednesday will be rainy at times with mild temperatures in the 70s and gusty winds out of the southeast. Minor coastal flooding is likely for low-lying areas on south and east-facing shores.
Thursday will be a bigger weather day with the arrival of our strong cold front. The best chance for t-storms will be in the afternoon as the cold front arrives. There is a low threat for severe t-storms with high wind gusts and perhaps an isolated tornado. Heavy rain is also possible through the afternoon/evening. We'll watch for spotty flooding.
The cold air will rush in by Thursday evening and continue through Friday morning, but the light showers stick around through Friday. If the cold air (below 32) gets close enough Friday morning it is possible some freezing rain/sleet mixes in near and north of the state-line. The best chance of this happening is from McComb to Jackson Mississippi. Little to no impact is currently forecast for SE LA, but we'll need to watch the freezing line north of the lake Friday morning.
